Dr Mah Hussain-Gambles has a Doctorate in Clinical Trials (Leeds Medical School, UK), an in-depth knowledge of healing plants and evidence-based medicine due to her formal training in Homeopathic Medicine, first degree in Pharmacology and later a Masters Degree in Health Service Research, with work experience in the field of cancer medicine. She is highly published in her field and also a Member of the Royal Society of Chemistry and the Society for Cosmetic Scientists.
As a natural skincare specialist, with over 15 years experience of independent research and the creation of skincare solutions, her formulations are based on sound science. Her early training as a formulation and product development chemist for leading pharmaceutical companies has given her in-depth expertise in innovative product development and branding.
Her most recent award earned her the British Female Innovator of the Year Award, at the British Female Inventors and Innovators Network Event (June 2009). She was the recipient of the coveted Halal Journal Award presented by the Malaysian Prime Minister earlier this year. She is also listed in Real Business Britain’s 100 Most Entrepreneurial Women (March 2009), which recognises creative entrepreneurial business talent across the UK’s private, social and public sectors.
In 2007, Mah was one of the winners in the BT Business Essence of the Entrepreneur Award and for Saaf Pure Skincare, which won the Muslim News Enterprise of the Year Award (2008) as the World's first Halal and Organic Certified Skincare, manufactured in the UK. No stranger to the UK’s Royal family, Dr Hussain-Gambles was recently presented to HRH Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall, when she was short listed for the 10th Asian Women of Achievements Awards 2009. Previously, she was formally presented to the Queen and other members of the Royal Family at Buckingham Palace as part of a celebration of The Top 200 British Female Businesswomen.
